VerdictIQ Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 01 August 2026 · Last Updated: 07 August 2026
VerdictIQ ("VerdictIQ," "we," "us," or "our") operates the VerdictIQ mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights available to you.
By creating an account or using VerdictIQ, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account information: Name, email address, password (stored in hashed form).
- Profile information: Display name, avatar.
- Dispute content: The text you submit describing your side of a dispute, dispute titles, and any details you choose to include.
- Partner information: Your partner's name and email address, which you provide when inviting them to respond to a dispute.
- Payment information: Billing details processed by our payment provider — VerdictIQ does not directly store full card numbers.
- Support communications: Messages you send us for customer support or feedback.
- AI Counsellor conversations: Questions and messages you submit to the AI Counsellor chat feature.
1.2 Information About a Partner Who Has Not Yet Registered
When you start a dispute and invite a partner, we collect the name and email address you provide for that person so we can send them an invitation and allow them to submit their own side independently. If your partner does not create an account, we retain only the minimum information needed to deliver the invitation and will delete it upon request or after 1 month of inactivity. If your partner never signed up and objects to us holding their information, they may contact us at verdictai@yahoo.com to request deletion.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, general usage patterns, crash logs, and diagnostic data.
- Log data: IP address, access times, and app interaction events, collected for security and reliability purposes.
- Approximate location: derived from IP address or device settings — we do not track precise GPS location.
1.4 Information From Third Parties
- Payment processors (Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe) may share limited transaction confirmation data with us.
- Sign-in providers, if you choose to register or log in using a third-party account, share the basic profile information you authorize.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your account.
- Operate the core Service — allowing you and your partner to submit dispute content and receive an AI-generated verdict.
- Send your submitted dispute content to our AI model provider(s) for the purpose of generating a verdict and the AI Counsellor's responses.
- Send transactional communications (invitations, verdict-ready notifications, receipts, security alerts).
- Send marketing communications, where you have opted in, and which you may opt out of at any time.
- Process subscription payments and manage billing.
- Monitor, maintain, and improve the Service, including debugging and analytics.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your disputes for advertising purposes.
3. AI Processing Disclosure
VerdictIQ's core feature — generating a verdict and powering the AI Counsellor — relies on artificial intelligence models provided by third-party AI providers.
- When you and your partner submit your sides of a dispute, that content is transmitted to our AI provider's systems to generate a response.
- When you use the AI Counsellor, your messages are similarly transmitted to generate a response.
- Our agreements with AI providers restrict them from using your data to train their general-purpose models, except where required for abuse detection or as otherwise disclosed.
- AI-generated verdicts are automated outputs and are provided for informational and relationship-guidance purposes only.
4. How We Share Information
- With your partner: the content of your submitted argument becomes visible to your partner once they submit their own side, and vice versa. The generated verdict is visible to both parties associated with the dispute.
- Service providers: we share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting, AI processing, email delivery, customer support tooling, analytics, and payment processing. These providers are contractually bound to use your information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of VerdictIQ, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: if VerdictIQ is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time you provide the information.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: retained until you delete your account, plus a limited period afterward for backup and fraud-prevention purposes.
- Dispute content and verdicts: retained until you delete the dispute or your account, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Partner invitation data (for non-registered partners): retained per Section 1.2.
- Payment records: retained as required by tax and accounting law, typically 1 year.
6. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security review. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your personal information ("right to be forgotten").
- Port your data to another service in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including AI processing of your submissions.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
- Opt out of marketing communications via the unsubscribe link in any email.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at verdictai@yahoo.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (e.g., 30 days under GDPR, 45 days under CCPA).
8. International Data Transfers
VerdictIQ and its service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect data transferred internationally.
9. Children's Privacy
VerdictIQ is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at verdictai@yahoo.com.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party sign-in or payment providers. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by email prior to the change taking effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised.
